Kitosi became one of the several Ugandan coaches who have gone on to advance their coaching careers in Germany and is pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Science and International Volleyball Coaching.

When the Ndejje Elites walk onto the floor to face KCCA on Sunday, they will be without head coach Ronald Kitosi.

The tactician, who guided the Elites to the National Volleyball League title last year, is out of the country for further studies and will miss the remainder of the season.

He became one of the several Ugandan coaches who have gone on to advance their coaching careers in Germany and is pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Science and International Volleyball Coaching.

The team’s 3-1 win over Sport-S to take the defending champions top of the log two weeks ago was Kitosi’s last involvement this season.

The Elites will be hoping to move on smoothly when they take on KCCA Sunday evening at the Old Kampala Arena in one of their last games of the regular season.

The men’s side, Ndejje Sharks, for whom Kitosi played, missed his services and could not hold onto a two-set lead against KCCA on Saturday.

They took the first two sets but failed to close out the contest and lost 3-2 to dent their chances of making the playoffs.

Sadat Wagumba will be the man tasked with taking care of KCCA but also defending the league title in the long run.

“We have to move on and continue playing well,” Wagumba told Pulse Sports ahead of Sunday’s cracking encounter.

Wagumba has been handling the men’s team as head coach and assistant for the women’s side. All eyes will now be on him.

In the meantime, Ndejje have added Jensen Chestit to assist Wagumba.

The first game without their tactician is a big one.

Having dismissed Shilla Omuriwe’s charges in straight sets in the very first game of the season, Ndejje will be out to seal a double over the Kasasiro Girls.

But KCCA’s 3-0 win over KCB-Nkumba the last time out means they are only two points behind the table leaders, and close that gap further with maximum points.

The Elites, meanwhile, defeated Sport-S to create some comfort at the top.

Their 3-1 victory broke untied the two sides to give the defending champions some ground in the race to the top of the table come end of the regular season.
