At Sport-S, Tumukunde will link up with his brother Johnson Rukundo and former UCU teammates Marino Oboke and Samuel Engwau.
Former UCU Doves opposite Jonathan Tumukunde has become one of the first players to depart OBB in this year’s transfer season.
The club confirmed the player’s departure on their social media channels before the federation, Uganda Volleyball Federation, revealed his next move.
Tumukunde will be joining Sport-S from the 2022 champions, having spent just one season at the Iganga-based club.
A tweet from OBB on Saturday said: “Thank you for being such an important part of our family. We couldn’t have accomplished what we did without you. Good Luck with your next step.”
Having joined OBB from Nemostars at the end of the 2022 National Volleyball League finals, Tumukunde managed to win the Nkumba Open title with the 2022 league champions.
His addition was expected to help the team retain the league title, but despite a good display in the semi-finals, OBB were eliminated by Sport-S.
The club had earlier, in August 2022, failed to win the National Club Championship.
At Sport-S, Tumukunde will link up with his brother Johnson Rukundo and former UCU teammates Marino Oboke and Samuel Engwau.
It remains to be seen whether Tumukunde’s departure is the first of many to come.

VOLLEYBALL Sport-S defeat UCU Doves to win first league title in 14 years
Saturday’s 3-1 win to level the series handed Sport-S the momentum and quite clearly deflated UCU going into Sunday's decider.
Ivan Ongomu, Cosmas Elijah Apunyo and other high-profile players could be tempted to look for greener pastures elsewhere.
Having won the league a year ago, OBB were expected to represent Uganda in the Africa Club Championship, but the tournament started and ended with no representation from the Pearl of Africa.

VOLLEYBALL UCU Doves captain Gideon Angiro joins Rwanda's APR
Angiro has previously played for Nemostars and KCCA in Uganda but also tried out a pro stint in Albania before returning to join the Doves team.
Tumukunde will now join an established unit of hard hitters at Sport-S. Augustine Odongo, Thon Maker and Michael Mangon are some of the other weapons in the Sport-S arsenal.
