Rasheedat Ajibade: Super Falcons captain leads Atletico Madrid to Kansas
Nigerian passport goes higher as Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade leads Atletico Madrid to Kansas for pre-season.
It was Atletico de Madrid Femenino's first away victory of the season and their third overall since this season.
With only one victory and three losses from their opening four games, Valencia has yet to secure a victory, thus Víctor Martín's club capitalized on their uncertainties and subpar performance.
Valencia 0-4 Atletico Madrid
After a fantastic move by Rasheedat Ajibade on the wing, Gabi García opened the score after thirty minutes.
Sheila Guijarro scored her second goal of the season, taking advantage of a loose ball in the box, to give Atletico Madrid the lead against Valencia in less than ten minutes.
However, the Atletico storm persisted as they won the match just before halftime.
Boe Risa made a beautiful starting play from more than 25 meters out on the wing, sending the ball into the area where Ajibade took it down with his chest and scored the third with a strong shot.
Since the red-and-whites were leading so comfortably, Víctor Martín decided to rest some of the Atlético players in the second half.
Even though the second half was less competitive, Ajbade's goal at the very end of the game gave Atlético the victory.
The Nigerian scored her second goal of the game after taking advantage of a clearance from Valencia.
