Snoop Dogg's daily earnings at the Olympics have made headlines boosting NBC's viewership with his unique commentary and viral moments.

Iconic US rapper Snoop Dogg has been turning heads not just with his unique Olympic commentary but also with the staggering amount he’s earning each day.

As the 'Gin & Juice' singer entertains and informs viewers, his daily earnings have reportedly reached an eye-watering sum of £393,000 which is approximately Ksh 64.6 million per day, plus expenses.

According to Henry McNamara, one of the world's most influential young entrepreneurs, an NBC executive revealed these figures.

"Snoop is getting paid £393,000 ($500,000) every day - plus expenses, in case that was not enough," she said as per Daily Mail.

The involvement of Snoop Dogg at the Olympics has been diverse and impactful.

From donning full equestrian attire at the dressage events to receiving a swimming lesson from Olympic legend Michael Phelps, and even analyzing rugby games, Snoop has been everywhere.

His activities have not only added a fresh layer of entertainment to the broadcasts but have also significantly boosted viewership numbers.

NBC’s decision to bring Snoop on board seems to be paying off handsomely.

On the middle Sunday of the games, the network boasted 35.4 million viewers—more than double the viewership of the same day during the Tokyo Olympics.

Snoop’s appeal has evidently resonated with the audience, contributing to these impressive numbers.

Additionally, a report from the German outlet Bild suggests that Snoop’s total earnings could skyrocket to £11.78 million, about Ksh 1.73 billion across the Games, thanks to a TV ratings bonus included in his contract.

This arrangement underscores the massive investment NBC has made in its Olympic coverage, which stems from a £4.5 billion (Ksh 856 billion) broadcasting deal secured with the International Olympic Committee running through to 2032.

Molly Solomon, NBC's executive producer and president for Olympics Production, expressed her excitement about Snoop's contribution.

"His Olympic coverage generated 'tens of millions of views' for NBC in 2021," Solomon said.

"That performance alone has earned Snoop a job as our Special Correspondent in Paris. We don't know what the heck is going to happen every day, but we know he will add his unique perspective to our re-imagined Olympic primetime show."

Snoop Dogg’s Olympic stint has also been marked by plenty of viral moments.

Notably, he was captured with an eye-popping reaction to Simone Biles' gymnastics qualification, wearing a T-shirt adorned with the gymnastics legend’s face.

He also had a brief, yet memorable, stint as an Olympic torch-bearer, which became a fodder for social media memes, cleverly associating the burning torch with a cannabis joint, a nod to Snoop’s well-known penchant for marijuana.

Even as Snoop continues to entertain and engage, the details of his earnings reveal just how valuable his presence has been to NBC’s Olympic coverage.
