In his 18-player squad for the competition, the captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, striker Asisat Oshoala, defender Osinachi Ohale, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and 14 other players were picked.

Last year, Babajide was unable to travel with the Super Falcons squad to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup finals last summer.

She made her Super Falcons debut in a Paris 2024 Women's Olympic Football Tournament qualifying game against the Senior Women National Team of Ethiopia.

Babajide was not selected for the Olympics and has now responded unbothered based on her latest social media post.

Nine-time African champions Nigeria, who are making their maiden appearance in the Women’s Olympic Football competition for the first time since 2008 in China, will tackle Brazil, Spain, and Japan, in that order, at this year’s competition.
