The father of Super Falcons star Oshoala is not happy with her shirtless celebration against Australia.
Super Falcons of Nigeria star Asisat Oshoala rose to the top of social media trends after her heroics against Australia at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Oshoala came off the bench to change the game and spark the Super Falcons to a shock victory against the co-hosts.
Following her goal, Oshoala made a massive statement, removing her shirt in celebration with her teammates.
Alhaji Oshoala is not happy with her shirtless celebration
The Barcelona star has now taken to social media to share her thoughts on the celebration.
The five-time African woman's player of the year posted on her official Instagram account that her celebration was not well received by her father.
According to sources, Oshoala's father is a Muslim and an Alhaji.
Along with a photo of the celebration was a message that said, "My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, Life is a collection of MOMENTS. #Alhamdulilah #Grateful #Moments."
As the hashtags in her post #Alhamdulilah suggests, Oshoala is from a Muslim background.
Oshoala has faced social media criticism for shirtless celebration
While her teammate Rasheedat Ajibade celebrated with Jesus on her shirt, Oshoala has now faced criticism for a display of passion.
Oshoala will now aim to help the Super Falcons qualify for the second round.
The Super Falcons take on Ireland in the final game at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, Kickoff is at 11 a.m. Nigerian time on Monday, July 31, 2023.
