When the Super Falcons traveled to Douala for the opening leg of the 2024 Women's Football Olympic qualifying match against Cameroon, they were hoping to gain an advantage.
With players like Asisat Oshoala, Ashleigh Plumptre, and Rasheedat Ajibade all making the starting eleven, coach Randy Waldrum fielded a formidable squad.
But Cameroon got off to a strong start, holding the Super Falcons at bay and taking advantage of their home-field advantage.
Ajibade and Waldrum ahead of Super Falcons vs Cameroon 2nd leg
With head coach Randy Waldrum and captain Rasheedat Ajibade leading the way, Nigeria's Super Falcons are certain they can overcome Cameroon's challenge and make it to the final round of the African qualification series for this year's Women's Olympic Football Tournament in France.
Both teams will play again on Monday night following a goalless draw in the first meeting between them in Douala.
The winner will most likely take on South Africa, the reigning African champions, for a trip to Paris.

Ndemugwanitha Twanyanyukwa, a Namibian official, has been nominated by CAF to officiate.
Eveline Augustinus, Olivia Amukuu, and Victoria Shangula, who are her countrymen, are the assistant referees 1 and 2, respectively, and the fourth official.
The commissioner will be Christine Ziga of Ghana, and the referee assessor will be Alice Wangari Kimani of Kenya.
