The budding Jamaican footballer is the latest sports star to be romantically involved with the veteran American singer.

Jamaican footballer Akeem Morris is the latest to be romantically involved with American pop star Madonna.

The two have been spotted at various events with the 28-year-old footballer looking at ease around his 66-year-old partner whom he has been dating for a while.

The duo’s romantic relationship came to light earlier this summer before the singer’s 66th birthday and they have more than confirmed it by attending several high-profile events together, including the Off-White's debut New York Fashion Week show on September 8.

Who is Akeem Morris?

Morris was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica but moved to the United States to attend college, ending up at Stony Brook University in New York.

He played football during school and for Jamaican Premier League side Oyster Bay United FC but seems to have taken a break from his football career even before he met Madonna.

How did he meet Madonna?

According to various outlets, Morris met Madonna through work on the set of Paper Magazine's photo spread in 2022, which was themed around a "wild night out in New York City."

Morris was reportedly part of the shoot and met the singer on set before they grew fond of each other.

However, it was not until last month that it was confirmed that they were dating when Madonna shared a photo online of them heading out while on vacation in Portofino, Italy, ahead of her 66th birthday celebrations.

Madonna’s love for sports stars

Before her relationship with Morris, Madonna was dating with 29-year-old heavyweight boxer Joshua Popper from New Jersey before they split in May.

"Madonna has barely seen Josh for months because her schedule was so hectic. Things just fizzled out. There is genuinely no bad blood—they're still fond of each other," a source said at the time, as quoted by British outlet The Sun.
