On top of being Omanyala’s fiancée, there are many other things she is involved in.

When you hear of Laventa Amutavi, many people just know that she is Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala’s fiancée but there are a lot of things they do not know about her.

On top of being Omanyala’s fiancée, Amutavi is a mother and an athlete among many other things. Here is a list of things you probably did not know about Amutavi.

1) She is a mother

Amutavi is a proud mother of one, a baby boy, whom she shares with Omanyala. They were blessed with their son, Quinton Omanyala when they were still in the University.

As reported by K24, Amutavi disclosed in a past interview that the birth of their son caught them by surprise since they were not financially stable to cater to him.

"I thank my family for they came on board to assist but it reached a time that we went broke since, in as much we got support, we didn't have a salary to sustain us," she said at the time.

2) She has ‘many’ siblings

Amutavi is her mother’s third born in a family of four but she has other siblings. In an interview on Spice FM earlier this year, Amutavi disclosed that she grew up in Kaimosi and she has many siblings.

Interesting, I am Luhya and I grew up in Kaimosi. I have many siblings…I think. I meet other siblings at funerals. From my mum’s side, we are four and I’m the third born,” she said.

3) She studied at the Moi University

Amutavi disclosed that she studied for a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and she disclosed that it was the first time she left her hometown.

For my campus, I went to Eldoret…it was fun leaving Western Kenya since I had studied there for my primary and high school education and I was happy to have the chance to finally leave,” she said.

She is a social worker by profession and she quipped that she took six years to complete her degree. While at the university, she used to do some businesses like selling clothes and food. She added that her sister introduced her to entrepreneurship.

4) She is an athlete

Just like Omanyala, Laventa is also a sprinter and a long jumper. As reported by K24, the couple met during inter-university competitions a few years ago. Their love would later blossom leading to marriage.

She has also specialized in long jump competitions. She has featured in several long jump competitions in the past.

In 2017, after performing well in university championships both in Kenya and East Africa, I was chosen to represent Kenya at the World University Games in Taipei.

Coincidentally Omanyala, who I had started dating the previous year was also headhunted for the games. The officials did not know we were dating," she said.

She added that starting her professional career was influenced by her husband, Omanyala, who has already made a name for himself on the global stage.
