Metu, played a key role for the Sacramento Kings as they finished third in the western conference of the National Basketball Association regular season and made the playoffs for the first time in 16 years.
They were, however, knocked out in Game 7 by the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the Western Conference.

Metu left Lawndale High School and went to the University of Southern California (USC) for three years, from 2015 to 2018.
After three years in college, he declared for the NBA draft and was selected in round two of the 2018 edition as the 49th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs.
After two years with the Spurs, Metu joined the Kings in 2020 and has been a key member of the team ever since.
