Shujaa find themselves in the playoff for a second straight season, after finishing ninth in the World Series, and will need to go through a tough series of matches to secure their place in the top flight during the season finale in Los Angeles on May 3.
Kenya are joined by Uruguay, Ireland and the United States of America, who finished in ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th positions respectively in the World Series, will go into the promotion-relegation playoff against the top four teams from the Challenger Series.

Following the final Challenger Series leg played in Krakow, Poland last weekend, winners Portugal, second-placed Germany as well as Canada and Samoa are the four sides set to make up the eight-team playoff where four World Series slots will be contested.

The four promoted teams are all sides Kenya are familiar with as they had an intense battle with Germany in the Challenger Series last season before later beating them in the playoff final.
In the 2024 playoff, Kevin Wambua’s men beat Samoa 19-12 in their opening game before a 10-5 loss to Spain and they improved to beat Chile 36-7 which set up a qualifier final against Germany.
Shujaa would beat Germany 33-15 in the decisive match to confirm their return to the World Series.
