Patrick Odongo is looking to use the expereince of the Olympics to carry Shujaa to glory at the Safari Sevens.

Kenya Sevens star Patrick Odongo is seeking to use the valuable lessons gained in his recent international competitions to push Shujaa to victory during the Safari Sevens this weekend.

The tournament takes place in Machakos with Shujaa having a strong squad that also includes try machine Odongo.

The Daystar Falcons man, who stole the show in the 2024 Paris Olympics, is looking to use the experience gained at the world stage to blow opponents away.

"It is not going to be easy because we have new players. They are gelling with the team because we have some of the senior players are out with injury but all in all we will put our best foot forward," Odongo told Pulse Sports

The pacy winger hailed the lessons learnt on his outing in Paris as he is eager to to put them to practice this weekend.

"Olympics was like a learning experience. I learnt a lot from the big teams like Argentina, New Zealand and Ireland. I know I'm going to emphasise and work on my weaknesses to improve in the upcoming tournaments."

"I know the future is promising, as long as I stay injury free. All I need to is protect myself and I know we will be somewhere chasing the try top scorer for the series. It is not easy but I know I will be there," he added.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13 at Machakos Stadium.
