The Kenyan rugby fraternity is in a state of shock following the sad news that Northern Suburbs Women skipper Bernadette Olesia has succumbed to illness at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital on Tuesday morning.
Olieisa was a key member of Dennis Mwanja’s Kenya Lionesses team that finished second at the Rugby Africa Womens’ Cup in 2023 in May this year.
In a statement released by Northern Suburbs, the club are saddened by the demise of “a great player in Kenya women’s rugby”.

“We have lost a great player in the Kenya Women’s rugby fraternity. The team is in shock and mourns the great loss,” the statement read.
