Everything you need to know as the Safari Sevens tournament is set to take place this weekend following two-year-hiatus.
For the first time since 2021, Safari Sevens will be taking place at the RFUEA Grounds this weekend, offering a lot of sevens action for fans who wish to attend the game.
The tournament, which has always served as a curtain raiser for Shujaa before starting their campaign globally annually.
The tournament returns on the back of the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) electing a new board as well as the Kenya national sevens team Shujaa’s qualification to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The squads for both the Kenyan men and womens’ sevens sides have been confirmed for the Safari Sevens tournament.
These recent developments have set the stage for a weekend of non-stop action and excitement that will keep rugby fans on the edge of their seats.
With that in mind, here is everything you need to know as you prepare to go and witness the rugby action.
Where will the tournament take place?
The tournament will be taking place at the RFUEA Grounds alongside Ngong Road in Nairobi from the Saturday 18th to the 19th of November 2023.

Ticket information
Those who wish to attend the opening match on Friday 17th will pay Ksh500 for a regular ticket, but Ksh2000 for a VIP one.
On Saturday and Sunday, the prices will increase, fans will spend Ksh1000 if they wish to buy a regular ticket, and Ksh3000 if they wish to secure VIP slots.
They can also buy a seasonal ticket for the full duration of the tournament. A regular season ticket will cost Ksh2000, while a VIP one will cost Ksh5000.

Which teams have confirmed their participation?
A total of 15 teams will be taking part in the tournament, which will serve as a good platform for teams to test some tactical instructions, as well as players to prove their weight in gold.
They are led by defending champions Shujaa, Morans, Uganda, Samurai, Germany, Red Wailers, Tropic 7s, KCB Rugby, Western Province and SA All Stars.
5 teams are confirmed for the women’s competition including Lionesses 1&2, Uganda, Tuks Women and Tropic 7s.
What are the pools and how is the order of play?
Shujaa headline Pool A which also features Red Wailers, Uganda, SA All Stars and Tropic 7s while Germany headline Pool B which features Morans, Samurai, KCB and Western Province Select.
The Lionesses headline the women’s competition which features Uganda, TUKS 7s, Cubs and Tropic 7s.

Aside from the rugby, what else is on offer for fans?
There will be an after part on each of the three days for fans who wish to participate at the tournament, with fans getting to take their minds off the rugby in the evenings in order to recharge their batteries over the weekend.
