Stanbic Black Pirates are back to the top of the Nile Special Club Sevens Series despite losing to Platinum Credit Heathens in the final of the Kyadondo Sevens over the weekend.
The Sea Robbers had been leapfrogged by Kobs after the Tooro Sevens but made amends in the two-day circuit at Kyadondo Rugby Club to regain their slot at the summit.
The top two sides found themselves meeting for a place in the semi-final, and despite going down early in the game, Pirates recovered in the second half to defeat Kobs 12-07 and progress to the Final Four.
Pirates would then go on to defeat Jinja Hippos 19-00 in the semis before falling 19-12 to Heathens in the final.
But by collecting 19 points from the circuit, the Pirates returned to the top with a total of 93 points from five events.
Kobs dropped to second place and are four points (89) behind the table leaders.
Having lost up to seven players to the Uganda Sevens team, the Blue Army struggled to impress through the two days of the event.
Tournament winners Heathens, who registered their second victory of the season, are third on the log with 84 points.
Defending champions, Hippos are on 73 points and look set to surrender the title.
With two circuits remaining on the calendar, the fight for the title is still on, with the top three sides still with a chance to win the overall title.
