Kenya 7s display toothless performance as Samoa seal potential berth to quater finals with a dominant 26-0 win.
The Kenya National 7s men’s side Shujaa’s hopes of medalling at this year’s Paris 2024 Olympics were dashed after being given a 26-0 thrashing by Samoa in their final Pool B match that took place at the Saint Dennis Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Shujaa started badly conceding a try right after the match started as Samoa landed their first try of the afternoon which was not well converted.
Things then went awry for the Kenyans, who saw Kevin Wekesa sent to the sin bin for two minutes after being involved in an infringement from a line out, as he deliberately grabbed a Samoa player, leaving them to fight the remainder of the match with six men.

NOC-K President Paul Tergat sends Team Kenya motivational message ahead of Paris Olympics
The former Olympic great has sent Team Kenya a motivational message as they prepare to launch their Paris 2024 campaign.
Paul Scanlin would take advantage with a good try to make it 12-0 to their good. The Kenyans just could not find a way to break past the Samoan defence, and any time they gained possession, they lost the counter-racks, with the Kenyans struggling to find spaces to use their space on the break.
Before too long, Apelu Maliko would make it a third try for Samoa after he managed to successfully maneuver his way into the try box and stepped two Kenyan players before getting another try that was successfully converted to give them a crucial three points.
The Kenyans thought they had a good chance to reduce the deficit and nearly landed a try of their own, but a wayward pass by Tony Omondi saw them turn over possession and made some good switches of play before landing another try to put the game to bed 26-0.
