KCB RFC assistant coach Dennis Ironman Mwanja is optimistic his charges can still give Kabras Sugar a run for their money despite failing to win the Prinsloo Sevens held over the weekend.
After winning the opening Dala 7s leg held in Kisumu in July, they have fallen short at the semi-final stage in Mombasa and Nakuru, and have had to be content with a third-place spot.

The Kabras flyhalf has already made history by representing his adopted country with Kenya Simbas but he still has ambitions of donning the Kenya Sevens jersey.
Mwanja says KCB will keep “biting, scratching, and clawing” their way to win the remaining legs.
“We are always challenging. We bite, scratch, and claw our way into every win. We don’t lie down and play dead. Historically, we have always been giving a good account of ourselves,” Mwanja said.

The Shujaa player has described the standards of professionalism at Kabras as “top-notch” and believes other clubs should replicate their model in order to help improve the standards of Kenyan rugby.
“It is a marathon, we still have a couple more legs to go. Like last year, it was decided on the last day. We cannot write off a circuit that is still halfway.”
Mwanja however is far from pleased with the inconsistency his boys showed in Nakuru, “blowing hot and cold”.

Shujaa were relegated after defeat to Canada in the Relegation Playoffs.
“We have had different results. We blew hot and cold. We did not fire when we were expected to and hence we ended up being knocked out in the semis and having to play in the third-place playoff.
"But, we will pick up from there, go back to the drawing board and work on our mistakes."
