Shujaa star Herman Humwa has detailed the key areas Kevin Wambua's men are working on ahead of Paris 2024 Olympics.

Kenya Sevens star Herman Humwa has revealed what they are working on in Miramas as they continue their preparations towards the Olympics in Paris, France.

Humwa is one of only two players with previous Olympics experience in the current squad, having featured prominently in Tokyo alongside Co-Captain Vincent Onyala, and will now be expected to use his prior lessons to rub them on to the new blood in the squad.

Speaking in a very recent interview after one of their training sessions in France, Humwa expressed satisfaction at the their preparations, further revealing what they are working on.

“The weather in Miramas is good. At least it is sunny. Playing rugby in the stadium under such conditions is conducive. It is very nice,” Humwa revealed.

“We are focusing on our defence and the technical aspects in kick offs and set pieces, as well as making sure our nitty gritties are good and studying the opposition well, especially Argentina and Australia, since we have not played them this season.”

Humwa has revealed the qualities that the young players have brought to the team compared to the old guard, lauding their attitude and spirit.

“The young lads are up to the task and they are really cooperating in terms of training. They are confident of being here and we are just telling them that it is a game like any other," he added.

The Kenya Harlequin captain has also revealed what playing in his second Olympics would mean for him.

“The Olympics is a dream come true, especially playing in my second tournament. Last time, I did not experience it fully because of many restrictions," said Humwa.

“But now being here and playing for the Shujaa, it is a really good feeling and I am really honoured to be here.”
