Defending champions Kabras Sugar RFC on Saturday, March 4, clash with Kenya Harlequins for a spot in the final of the Kenya Cup at the Kakamega Showground.
Quins, who finished fourth in the regular season with 37 points, are making a comeback to the semifinal playoffs since 2019 and will be keen to make a mark this time round.
They started on quite a disappointing note by losing three of their matches but sprung back to winning ways in an impressive way. They lost their matches to KCB (38-0), Menengai Oilers (24-10) and Kabras (27-12) respectively.
Quins then turned the table in their fourth match against Mean Machine by winning 45-20.
The 2012 Kenya Cup champions' last win over Kabras was during a regular season fixture back in 2017 after edging them 19-13.
Kabras finished top of the table with 52 points and will be looking to retain their title and will have an added advantage as they will be playing at their home ground. They have also ended all their matches unbeaten.
However, both teams have maintained a hot streak, winning all their matches this year.
On February 18 (Matchday 10), the Sugar Millers edged KCB 29-23 and went ahead to register a 15-13 win over Menengai Oilers over the weekend (February 25). Meanwhile, Quins have also impressed through back-to-back wins over Mwamba RFC (22-11) and Strathmore Leos (32-18).
