Teams like KCB and Harlequins have improved according to Katywa, making the competition even tighter with no margin for error

Kabras RFC coach Carlos Katywa has predicted that teams will try to make life difficult for his side in the Kenya Cup championship this season.

The South African tactician said he was impressed by the perfect start to the 2024-25 season last weekend  in their quest for unprecedented four-peat  but warned against complacency.

The defending Kenya Cup champions launched their title defence with a 33-6 win over Impala and Katywa said there's more to come from his fired-up, mentality-monsters charges.

"I am happy we started the campaign well. The young players were up to the task but it is going to be a tough season because teams like Menengai Oilers, Kenya Harlequins and KCB have really stepped up their game. So we will take one game at a time,” he  told Citizen Digital.

Katywa is the Kenya Simbas assistant coach. Katywa has previously expressed frustration that the lack of prize money for Kenya Cup victories could demoralize the players and negatively impact the sport.
