Kenya Harlequin claim Ingo 7s bragging rights with crucial win over KCB to move top of the overall standings.
Kenya Harlequin are the 2024 Ingo 7s champions which took place at the ASK Kakamega Showground this weekend after they floored KCB 17-12 in the final of the main cup.
Quins, who reached the finals of the opening Christie 7s tournament at the RFUEA grounds last weekend, cruised their way to the final, and are now on course to achieve their target of winning the overall circuit with as many semi-finals, finals and even tournament wins as possible.
Although KCB started well with two tries, through Elvis Olukusi although one not converted, Harlequin reduced the deficit just before the break.
Albert Alela landed the try as Amon Wamalwa converted successfully to reduce the deficit 12-7 going into the dressing room.
They did land a try, although not well converted, through Brian Ratila, ensuring that fans would still be waiting a little longer to find out the winner of the Ingo 7s.
However, Lucky Dewald would net the all-important try that was well converted by Quins in extra time to hand them a priceless 17-12 win.
Kabras Sugar meanwhile, finished the tournament as the third-placed team on home soil, flooring Nakuru 22-7, while Catholic Monks finished fifth with a 26-10 win over the Western Bulls.
Strathmore won the Challenge trophy with a 19-14 win over Blackblad in an all-varsity affair.
Homeboyz RFC thrashed Mwamba RFC 34-0 to clinch 13th place.
With the second leg of the National Sevens Circuit (NSC) done and dusted, attention now shifts to Kisumu for the Dala 7s on August 17-18 at the Mamboleo Stadium.
