Rising Kenyan rugby star shines bright as his efforts are awarded in New York.
Monate Akuei, a former refugee from South Sudan, has been recognized for his outstanding achievements in rugby.
The 23-year-old, who attended Kirobon High School in Nakuru, was awarded the prestigious Apprentice of the Year title by the Rugby New York team in the United States.
Rugby New York made the announcement on Friday, praising Akuei for his remarkable impact on the team.
"An award dedicated to an Ironworker in their first season of pro rugby, our 2023 Apprentice of the Year is Monate Akuei," stated the team.
