This is how the 16.5 million shillings SportPesa injected into the 2024 National 7s circuit will be used,
For the second year in a row, leading gaming firm SporPesa struck yet another partnership with the Kenya Rugby Union to sponsor the 2024 edition of the national 7s circuit.
Following the success from last year’s partnership, which was worth 15 million shillings, SportPesa injected a further 1.5 million shillings, and it now meas this year’s partnership is worth 16.5 million shillings, with the circuit officially referred to as the SportPesa 7s.
With six tournaments set to take place in five towns and cities - Nairobi, Nakuru, Kakamega, Kisumu and Mombasa over two months, here is the financial breakdown of how the 16.5 million will be utilized.

The millions SportPesa have injected into the National Sevens Circuit ahead of 2024 season
A total prize pot of 2.2 million KES will be spread across the six legs, with the top-performing teams being rewarded at the end of each tournament.
Financial Breakdown
Of the 16.5 million 6.5 million will go directly to the Kenya Rugby Union to deal with the general operational costs of running the series.
Each host club will receive 1 million to cater for their respective tournament, totalling upto 6 million shillings.
Another 1.8 million of the sponsorship will go towards marketing and the tournament’s promotional activities, while the remaining 2.2 million will go back towards price money for the clubs based on their performances per circuit.

2024 SportPesa National 7s Circuit Dates and Venues
The SportPesa 7s circuit will feature six tournaments over two months, taking place in five towns and cities across Kenya. The detailed schedule is as follows:
Christie 7s: July 27/28 at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi
KRU 7s (Ingo 7s): August 3/4 at the ASK Kakamega Showground, Kakamega County
Dala 7s: August 17/18 in Kisumu County
Kabeberi 7s: August 24/25 at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi
Driftwood 7s: September 7/8 in Mombasa County
Prinsloo 7s: September 14/15 in Nakuru County
The Christie 7s will kick off the circuit, followed by the newly added KRU 7s, replacing last year’s Tisap 7s. The series will then move to Kisumu for the Dala 7s, return to Nairobi for the Kabeberi 7s, proceed to Mombasa for the Driftwood 7s, and culminate in Nakuru with the Prinsloo 7s.
