Patrick Odongo-inspired Daystar Falcons missed out on promotion to the Kenya Cup last season, but will be hoping to make ammends when they start their KRU Championship campaign against USIU.
The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has unveiled the 2024/25 Championship fixtures, setting the stage for an exciting season beginning on Saturday, November 16.
Daystar Falcons, who were bundled out of earning promotion to the Kenya Cup last year after losing the final of the playoffs to Southern Coast last season, will square off against United States International University (USIU) Martials in a university derby in their first clash.
Recently relegated Homeboyz RFC will clash with Zetech Oaks in a much-anticipated opening match. The Deejayz, who faced relegation from the Kenya Cup last season after a solid 13-year stint, will be eager to re-establish their standing.

Kabras Sugar to begin Kenya Cup title defence against Impala as 2024/2025 Kenya Cup fixtures are released
Kabras will begin their Kenya Cup defence when they face Impala, who earned promotion back to the top flight, while KCB will also be taking on another newly promoted side South Coast Pirates.
Their last season saw a dramatic downturn as they went 16 games without a victory since mid-January 2023, managing only a single draw. Their final win dates back to January 14, 2023, when they defeated Mean Machine 31-7 in the 2022/23 season.
Homeboyz’s relegation was eventually confirmed after they forfeited their Kenya Cup Week 10 game against Mwamba RFC, incurring a two-point penalty that dropped them to zero points. Now, they’ll be aiming to make a strong comeback.
Alongside Homeboyz, league contenders such as the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) Monks and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Rugby are gearing up for the season with high expectations.
The Monks will face off against the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) Marines, with both sides determined to make an early impact.
