Kabras Sugar will now top seeds heading into the inagural KRU 7s tournament which will take place in Kakamega next weekend.

Kabras Sugar are the winners of the 2024 edition of the Christie 7s after they managed to upstage Kenya Harlequin 17-14 in the final of the Christie 7s tournament held at the RFUEA Ground on Sunday.

Kabras opened the scoring with an unconverted try moments after the break, before adding another well taken one to give them a 12-0 lead heading into the break.

Quins would however restore parity after the break, landing two tries - although one was not converted - to restore parity at 12-12, and the game was now anyone’s to lose.

Kabras would however have the last laugh with the match-winning try in the end to ensure the Christie 7s trophy would end up in their hands at the end.’

Catholic Monks finished third-runners up with a 10-5 win over Strathmore Leos in the third-place playoff to ensure that they finished their Christie 7s campaign as the third team in the competition overall ahead of the KRU 7s, which will take place at the ASK Kakamega Showgrown this weeked.

In the men’s division two, Stallions managed to get their 2024 Campaign on a high note with a 21- 7 win over Embu 7s.

Embu drew first blood with a converted try, but would be involved in a disappointing collapse afterward, as the Stallions would land three well converted try to give them the much-deserved win in the end.

In the women’s category, Impala successfully managed to retain their Christie 7s title with a 22-10 win over Mwamba in the fiercely competitive derby that acted as the curtain raiser for the final of the men’s division one tournament.
