Manchester United announce that Antony has returned to training following domestic abuse allegations.

Manchester United have announced that winger Antony has returned to the Manchester United set-up after he was temporarily 'suspended' by the club following assault allegations.

The 21-year-old was the subject of domestic violence allegations by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin, and two other women.

This initiated a probe by Brazilian law enforcement, leading the player to be dropped from the national team squad during the previous international break. He was subsequently put on leave by the Red Devils, to enable the player to remain in Brazil to address the allegations.

Antony returned to Manchester

As Pulse Sports previously reported, Antony has arrived in England for further investigation and questioning from the Greater Manchester Police.

The 23-year-old is reportedly willing to give the GMP his phone in order to help with their investigation.

The Red Devil winger was asked to remain in Brazil by Manchester United after reporting for international duty and has now returned to England.

Antony back in training

The EFL Cup holders released a statement today, announcing that the winger has returned to training and will now be available for selection.

"Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has co-operated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so”

"As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington, and be available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case.

"As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse."
