Sports CS Ababu Namwamba has explained how the government plans to benefit the corporates who invest and sponsor sporting activities.
The private sector should start considering channeling their investments into the sports sector because of the benefits that the Sports CS Ababu Namwamba is planning to implement.
With the economy at stake and the dollar rate increasing steadily, the government will be seeking to come through for private sponsors who invest in sports. The key events happening this year include the Magical Kenya, World Rally Championship Safari Rally, and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Speaking during the high-level breakfast meeting with corporate partners on Tuesday morning, the Sports CS explained that the government has invested heavily in sports and it should come as motivation for the private sector to also come through and offer support.

On top of that, he added that the Talanta Hela initiative has blossomed well and they will be keen to ensure youngsters benefit financially from their talents.
He also singled out the projects that have emerged including the development of basketball under the partnership with the United States National Basketball Association and the development of golfing talent among others.
“We are looking at discussing tax breaks and tax incentives, and this is an opportunity for corporates to grow your market.
“Our team has worked incredibly hard in the last one year…Today I pay special tribute to the team at the ministry that inherited a sector in a total mess.
"We inherited a football that was in limbo, suspended by the international federation, and we inherited rugby that was on a free-fall, ultimately culminating in Kenya falling out of the HSBC World Series. We inherited a swimming federation that had been in limbo and banned by World Aquatics for several years.
"Kenya’s premier sporting discipline, athletics, was on the verge of being banned by World Athletics because of doping,” Namwamba said as per Nation.
