St. Marys Kitende will be one of the many schools competing at the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) games in Huye, Rwanda.
Lawrence Mulindwa needs no introduction to Ugandan sport; he’s not only a former FUFA president but also an owner of one of the most decorated academic and sports institutions in Uganda.
St. Marys Kitende will be one of the many schools competing at the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) games in Huye, Rwanda.
“We are going to compete and not for charity; you are coming from Kitende; when you reach there and ask about us, they will tell you because we’ve been participating for over 20 years and winning,” Mulindwa said.
“My request is not to undermine teams but play according to instructions and with character because you’ll find better-prepared teams there, too,” Mulindwa said.
Kitende is the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association football boys’ champions and will face rivals Kibuli in the group stages of the East Africa Secondary Schools game.
Kitende was drawn against the defending champions in Group B together with Ecosemusabura from Rwanda and Kiwira Coal Mine from Tanzania.

The FEASSSA games bring together school teams from six-member countries, including Burundi. South Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda.
Uganda, who have won only three overall titles out of the past 20 events, won 18 gold medals compared to Kenya’s five, who remain the most dominant country.
The tournament is set to run from Wednesday, the 16th, to the 27th of August, in Huye district in Rwanda.
