Team Kenya to the 2024 Paris Olympics will not have issues with what to eat as they are preparing and digging into Kenyan meals at their camp in France.
Team Kenya to the Paris Olympics may be far away from home but they are not missing the local cuisine.
The athletes are still enjoying servings of Kenyan delicacies such as ugali, chapati and sukuma wiki in their camp and hope for the same at the Olympics Village during the Games.
After Kenya Airways and Air France made some concessions, Team Kenya carried food stuff such as maize and wheat flour and local vegetables as well as cooking sticks and sieves to enable them cook familiar food and the athletes have wasted no time to put their culinary skills to the test.
At the weekend, the athletes were on cooking duties as they baked the flour and made chapatis while others prepared the stew to keep them in shape for the big task that awaits them.
The decision to have Kenyan delicacies was agreed upon by the delegation led by CEO Wanjiru Karani as the athletes feel digging into what they are familiar with will keep them at ease before and during the Olympics.
A big number of the Kenyan delegation is already in camp in Miramas where they will continue their preparations before heading to the Olympics Village in Paris.
Kenya is bidding to increase their medal tally in Paris from the 10 the country managed in Tokyo three years ago and the team leadership is keen to ensure every key detail is in place.
Part if those already in camp are the Kenya Sevens, Malkia Strikers and the sprinters, led by Ferdinand Omanyala.
