The fifth leg will be held at the Kakamega Golf Club from Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28.
The four-man team of Joseph Kagicha, Francis Kimanzi, Ibrahim Lande, and Azu Ogola returned a combined score of 99 points, to claim the overall title at the fourth leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour, played at the Kenya Railway Golf Club, on Sunday, May 14.
A handicapped 23 golfer, Kagicha teed off in the mid-morning, returning a score of 40 points, to anchor his teammates to the win. Lande who teed off with the course playing much tougher, carded a round of 30 points, one ahead of Kimanzi on 29 points with Ogolla on 23 points.

GOLF Junior golfers delighted with improved competition at Kids Series
The youngsters were impressed by their good results at the Limuru and Thika legs of the Junior Golf Foundation event.
They finished five points ahead of the second-placed team of Geoffrey Yego, Morgan Chirchir, Franklin Kipyator, and Moses Cheboi. The two teams have booked their places in the tour’s grand finale to be staged at the Karen Country Club in November this year.
Speaking after his team’s win Kagicha expressed his excitement to the win and noted that their next focus will be on the grand finale.
“We have been training individually and also had some joint sessions, we are glad to see that our work paid off. Winning today is a reward for the work we put in as a group, our focus now shifts to the grand finale,” he said.
Kagicha also picked up the overall winner’s title, with James Karuga claiming the men’s title with 37 points, as Perpetual Wanjiru took home the lady’s winner prize, after playing a round of 30 points.
Eunice Kilonzo and Joseph Gathumbi won the lady’s and men’s longest drive categories, with Dr. Walter Onyino claiming the leg’s nearest to the pin prize. The junior prize went to Thacker Mitansh who played a round of 25 points, with Martin Njuguna’s 30 points seeing him take the day’s guest prize.

The event was an opportunity for junior golfers to qualify for U.S. Kids Golf international tournaments by earning points for Priority Status.
On his part, KCB Group General Counsel Bonnie Okumu reiterated that through the golf series, they will be keen to create memorable connections and expand the game at the same time.
“We are glad to join you today after a beautiful round of golf at the heart of Kenya’s Capital, here at the Kenya Railway Golf Club, for the fourth leg of the 2023 KCB East Africa Golf Tour,” he said.

GOLF Over 100 junior golfers to grace USA Kids Golf Spring Local Tour in Thika
The event is an opportunity for junior golfers to qualify for the US Kids Golf international tournaments by earning points for Priority Status.
After the amateur series, KCB will host introductory golf clinics targeted at ladies and juniors on Sunday, followed by a tree-planting session at the same venue. The clinics which are aimed at growing the reach of the sport of golf in the country, have so far reached over 300 participants.
