The Rope Skipping Federation of Nigeria have set sights on grassroots development.
Rope Skipping Federation has organized the maiden edition of the Rope Skipping League.
The Federation President, Dayo Oyewo in an Exclusive interview with Pulse Sports disclosed that they have started with a league for a test run.
First-ever Rope Skipping League in the World takes place in Nigeria.
In the inaugural league, held last months with nine clubs taking part. There was also courses for coaches and judges.
The nine clubs featured are Boltad Rope Skipping Club, Synergy Rope Skipping Club, Amabutho Jumpers, and Kemrose Rope Skipping Club.

The four-week-long league held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Ondo State Sports Complex Akure commenced with Coaches and Judges courses on May 1st, 2023.
Others include Vincenzo Rope Skipping Club, Kings Rope Skipping Club, and Oyemekun Knights Jump Rope Club, while the rest are JC Rope Skipping Club and LEMA Rope Skipping Club.

Solomon Philip the second Nigeria GWR holder and Captain of JC Rope Skipping Club also proved his presence by propelling his club to secure second position, while Kemros Rope Skipping Club finished third of the table.
NRSF unveils 4-years-Plan
Dayo disclosed that they have a four-years plan to develop the game at the grassroots.
He said, "Test run a league is the first step to sustainability process for development of the game of Rope Skipping in Nigeria has designed by the NRSF which was a huge success; only waiting for international body adoption to spread it across the globe.

NCF approves subvention funds to Promote grassroots development
The NCF has carried out the ICC's mission to yearly welcome 250,000 new athletes into the sports through its Accelerated Growth Program.
"The next step to NRSF 4 years master plan is to commence the presentation of operational licences to Club owners and Promoters across the country. This measure becomes necessary as the participation of private entities is indispensable for sports development in the country."
Dayo Urges Sports Ministry to include Rope Skipping at Sports Festival
He appealed that the Sports ministry should add Rope Skipping to the National Sports Festival.
He said, “It one thing to look up to the Federal Ministry of Youth & Sports Development for the inclusion of rope skipping into the National Sports Festival, it another thing for NRSF to also reduce the overdependence on government as a sole promoter or sponsor of our activities; such has greatly hampered the development of many sports.
"We believe that the involvement of private entities as Club owners and Promoters will create opportunities for well-meaning Nigerians to invest in the empowerment of our teaming youth using the sport of Rope Skipping as a tool towards sustainable human capacity and community development."
Meanwhile, he also called on sports philanthropists to invest in the sports.
