The late Kadenge was without a doubt, the most spoken-about and loved Kenyan footballer in the past and the present and was considered one of Kenya’s greatest players.
“I am proud to let you know that as Nairobi County, we have plans to sort out the City Stadium and call it the Joe Kadenge Stadium in honour of the work that the legend did,” Sakaja said.
He called upon all the other counties to join in the movement to support the sportspeople who have put the country on the world map.
He cited the likes of double world marathon record holder Faith Kipyegon, Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala, former world champion Julius Yego, and Wimbledon junior doubles champion Angella Okutoyi.
