Minister of Sports John Owan Enoh tours 'ruined' National Stadium to assess work to be done.
According to Senator John Owan Enoh, the new Minister of Sports Development, the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja has the potential to become the premier stadium in all of Africa.
Enoh made this statement after visiting the stadium on Wednesday.

Enoh evaluated the multi-sports complex's condition before criticizing the state of the amenities.
The main stadium bowl, the velodrome, the facility building, the athletes' hostel, the Federation and Elite Athletes Department (FEAD), the Power Technical Building, and other buildings in the complex were all visited.

A statement by the Minister of Sports about the stadium said, "Today, I embarked on the tour of facilities within the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja in company of Ismaila Abubakar, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and top functionaries.
"The facilities that I visited include the Main Bowl of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, the Velodrome, Facilities Building, Power Technical Building, NFF, 200 Rooms Hostel among others.

"The tour afforded me the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of the current state of the facilities to enable me prioritise areas of intervention that I will see soon unfold.
It now remains to be seen what Owan Enoh will do to make the Abuja Stadium one of the best in Africa.
