Over 2000 Youths set first Skating National championship

The National Skating Championship champions will have the distinction of representing Nigeria at the next World Championship in Greece.

Nothing less than 2000 youths are ready for the maiden edition of the Skating National championship.

The Nigeria Skating Federation (NSF) confirmed that the championship, is shechudled for November 30 to December 3, 2023, in Abuja.

The President of Nigeria Skating Federation, Major General Abdullahi Maikano, confirmed that over 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have already expressed interest in competing in various categories of the championship.

Maikano is the head of the Organisation of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA), added that the 42.5-kilometer Skating Marathon from Airport Road to the City Gate in Abuja is a highlight of the event.

The Federal Road Safety Commission and other security agencies will be actively involved in monitoring the race to ensure participants’ safety and security.

The National Skating Championship champions will have the distinction of representing Nigeria at the next World Championship in Greece.

This worldwide exposure intends to increase Nigeria's representation in the global skating arena and increase the sport's popularity among the country's youth and children.

Participants may expect a pleasant experience, as victors in each category will receive certificates, prizes, and trophies during the Abuja championship.

He emphasized that these events are a testament to the commitment and hard work of Nigeria’s skating community and set the stage for a historic and memorable competition.
