Jannik Sinner easily qualified for the quarterfinal of the Miami Open, displacing Andrey Rublev in domineering style.
Jannik Sinner played exceptionally in his match against Andrey Rublev, defeating the No.6 seed 6-2, 6-4 to reach his third consecutive Miami quarterfinal.
The 21-year-old had 16 winners and 3 unforced errors in the first set.
Jannik Sinner is the fourth male player to reach the quarterfinals in each of his first three main draw appearances at the Miami Open after Yannick Noah, Stefan Edberg, and Jimmy Connors.
“We understand each other, especially off court. He’s a nice, humble person and fits perfectly in our team. Every team member understands each other very well. Everyone’s the same. No one is above. When there’s a problem, we can talk about everything,” Sinner said on his win against Rublev.
The Italian now rises to No.10 on the live rankings.
