The sixth leg of the 2023 NCBA Golf Series at the VetLab Sports Club on Saturday, June 17 saw home player Junior Maina take the top honours in the event.
Despite the chilly morning weather, the event saw an impressive turnout of 252 golfers who showcased their skills and competed fiercely for top honours.

GOLF Over 250 golfers expected to grace sixth leg of NCBA Golf Series at VetLab
This year's edition comprises a total of 17 club qualifier events hosted at various prestigious golf clubs in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.
Maina, playing off handicap 6, displayed remarkable talent and skills to emerge as the overall gross winner of the tournament with an impressive score of 76 gross points.
In the men's gross category, Chrispine Owuor, playing off a handicap of 4, showcased exceptional golfing prowess to claim victory with a score of 76 gross points.
He beat Watson Burugu, playing off handicap 2, who secured the second position with an equally commendable score of 79 gross.
At the same time, Mary Karano, playing off handicap 12, stood out in the Ladies' gross category, capturing the top spot with a score of 90 gross points. Not far behind was junior golfer Navya Nagda, who demonstrated great skills by hitting 91 gross points.
In the Nett categories, Jane Wokabi, playing off handicap 26, secured the top position with an impressive score of 70 nett points. She beat Ann Njuguna, playing off handicap 35, who secured the second position having managed similar scores as Wokabi.
Among the men, Musikari Kombo, playing off handicap 27, claimed the top spot in the Nett category with an impressive score of 66 points. Moses Kimutai, playing off handicap 23 secured the second position with an equally impressive score of 66 nett points.

GOLF Cendric Konzolo shines at fifth leg of NCBA golf series despite weather challenges
Konzolo, playing off handicap 5, defied all odds to display his golfing prowess with an impressive score of 78 gross.
Meanwhile, the junior’s category saw Nathan Mwangi, playing off handicap 8, demonstrate his golfing prowess by securing victory with a score of 81 gross points.
In other categories, junior golfers Nathan Mwangi and Ann Mwangi impressed once again by emerging as the winners in the Longest Drive challenge. Vincent Landa claimed the Nearest to the Pin challenge.
Speaking after the tournament, NCBA Bank Westlands Branch Manager Victor Maina expressed his delight at the impressive turnout and the level of talent displayed during the event.

GOLF Golfers displeased with PGA Tour, LIV Golf and DP World Tour merger
PGA Tour golfer Michael Kim questioned how many people had known the merger was to happen.
He said: "The NCBA Golf Series continues to showcase exceptional golfing talent, and we are thrilled by the remarkable performances witnessed at VetLab Sports Club."
On his part, VetLab Sports Club captain Anik Patel said: "We extend our heartfelt appreciation to NCBA Bank for their continued support and partnership. We are proud to have hosted the NCBA Golf Series as part of our centenary celebrations."
