World No. 1 and defending champion Iga Swiatek played exceptionally to defeat Emma Raducanu in straight sets of 6-3, 6-1, and reach the last 8 of Indian Wells.
Raducanu had her best tournament since winning the US Open in 2021, but sadly her best wasn't good enough against an incredible Swiatek.
Cirstea stuns Garcia
Sorana Cirstea got a fantastic top 5 win over Caro Garcia 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 to reach the quarterfinals in Indian Wells for the first time.
It's the 32-year-olds third career WTA 1000 quarterfinal on hardcourts and fifth overall.
Rybakina overwhelms Gracheva
Australian Open finalist Elena Rybakina overwhelms Varvara Gracheva 6-3, 6-0, advancing to the last eight.
The Wimbledon champion has been in superb form this season.
Kvitova upsets Pegula
In an epic clash, two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova saved four match points and got a big victory over No.3 seed Jessica Pegula 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(11) to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells for the first time since 2016.
Muchova defeats Vondrousova
Karolina Muchova defeated Marketa Vondrousova 6-4, 6-7(2), 6-4, in a thrilling 2 hours and 36 minutes battle to reach back-to-back WTA 1000 round of 8 after Dubai.
Sabalenka takes revenge on Krejcikova
In a match between the winners of the two biggest events of the year, Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka conquered Dubai champion Barbora Krejcikova (the only player to defeat Sabalenka in 2023) 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, and advance to the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells for the first time.
Sakkari beats Pliskova
Maria Sakkari survived 2 hours and 45 minutes match against Pliskova for 6-4, 5-7, 6-3.
No look handshake from Pliskova, who thinks Sakkari cheated later in the third set. Pliskova says Sakkari touched a ball at the net, but the umpire didn't see it and Sakkari denied the action.
Gauff survives Peterson's challenge
The American came back from a break down in the third set against Rebecca Peterson 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 to move into the quarterfinals in Indian Wells for the first time in her career.
Gauff has now reached seven quarterfinals in her last eight tournaments.
