Simone Biles has reacted to the release of her film, showcasing her Olympic journey that gave fans a sneak peek into the life of the decorated Olympian gymnast.

On Friday, October 25, fans were treated to an emotional exploration of Olympic champion Simone Biles’ journey in the second half of the Netflix documentary series, Simone Biles: Rising.

Released in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the documentary provides an intimate look into Biles’ life and career, culminating in her historic performances at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In an interview with Olympics.com at the Hollywood premiere on October 23, Biles expressed the profound impact the series had on her, especially as she revisited her experiences.

“I was focused so much on the Olympics that whenever I watched it back, that was kind of the release that I had,” Biles shared.

“I think it’s just the emotions after the Olympics you’re at such a high, and you don’t really get to release until afterwards.”

At the Paris 2024 Olympics Games, Biles made history by becoming the first woman to win two non-consecutive all-around titles, a feat that solidified her status as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Reflecting on her performance, she noted, “I felt like I held a good attitude and everything. There was a lot on the line for me personally because I had a lot to prove to myself, but once that was over, I felt really free.”

Rising not only chronicles her athletic achievements but also offers insights from her close-knit support system, including her parents, Ron and Nellie Biles, and her husband, Jonathan Owens.

The finale focuses on her all-around victory, highlighting the critical moments during her competition, particularly a tense battle against Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade.

When Biles faced a challenge after a mistake on the uneven bars, her family played a pivotal role in providing her with the reassurance she needed.

“I feel like it takes a village to succeed,” Biles remarked, emphasizing the role her family and support system played in her success.

“Once I’m standing up there, I feel like we’ve all done it together. It’s literally a village.”

With Simone Biles: Rising, audiences not only got to witness her incredible athletic journey but also gain a deeper understanding of the emotional and personal challenges she has faced along the way.
