Reigning Wimbledon junior doubles champion Angella Okutoyi is ready to take on other greats from 11 countries at the Billie Jean King Cup Group III tournament scheduled for Monday 12 to Saturday 17 June.
Okutoyi revealed that she has been training intensively and she is ready to take up the challenge. She said her season has been great so far and she is ready to continue the winning streak.

The 19-year-old will be up against some of the greatest athletes from 11 other countries that have confirmed participation.
“I’ve had a great season and I’m ready for the tournament. I have been playing a lot of matches and training too…I am very ready for the challenge,” Okutoyi told KBC Sport.

If given a chance, Okutoyi said she will be happy to play against all the teams since she is unfazed by any of the teams.
“I’m going out there to do my best and make the country proud, so I’m ready for whoever I will be playing against,” she said.

Mbugua revealed that they have assembled a team of able and dedicated young girls who will be up against teams from 11 nations.
She added that training together as a team has enabled them to build rapport and encourage each other. With that, she is confident Team Kenya will shine.
The team was in residential training at the Nairobi Club where they would practice twice each day.

“I believe we can do it since we try to motivate and encourage each other,” she said.
Okutoyi added that the newly-crowned 1500m world record holder Faith Kipyegon has come as a source of motivation to her at such a crucial moment.
