The event aims at raising awareness and sensitisation towards the conservation and protection of Kenya’s mountain range ecosystems.

Organisers of the 34th edition of the 4x4 off-road adventure spectacle the Rhino Charge event are over the moon after receiving a big boost from Kenya Breweries Limited through its brand Whitecap.

The event, scheduled for June 3, is partnering with KBL for the third time and will be hoping for a similar impact as the previous years.

In addition, KBL will also be sponsoring two competing teams at the event, Team Bushbabes Car 19 and Team Hippo Car 25 who will be participating for the 13th and 7th times respectively in the competition.

The event, which is hosted by the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust aims at raising awareness and sensitisation towards the conservation and protection of Kenya’s mountain range ecosystems popularly known as the “Water Towers”.

On the Charge chairman Don White expressed gratitude to KBL for their continued support and noted that with that support, they will be able to increase the awareness and support around the environmental conservation agenda.

“Preparations for this year's event are nearly complete as we close in on the Charge event. We expect another great outing for both participants and fans to one of Kenya's most spectacular places,” he added.

On his part, Bushbabes Driver Sabina Contos expressed her excitement at participating at the event and the positive impact it has on the conservation agenda.

“We are back and excited to participate in our 13th Charge event. It has been an honour to continually show up for this worthwhile cause to raise awareness on environmental conservation, something we are extremely passionate about,” she said.

On her part Brand Manager, Kenya Breweries Limited Brand Manager, Prudence Mukami endorsed the role Rhino Ark Charity had in the sensitisation of Kenyan environmental conservation through the competition.

“As Kenya Breweries, we are extremely excited to be part of the Rhino Charge competition for the third year running. This year, we extended our sponsorship to two great teams participating.

We hope their participation will encourage the next generation of male and female drivers to get involved in motorsport,” she said.

The 2022 edition saw a total of 64 teams take part in the Charge event held in Mosiro, Kajiado County. They managed to raise a total of Ksh 150,000,000 through various revenue streams which were invested in conservation efforts around the Mt Kenya, Aberdares and Mt Eburu Forests.
