Uganda Netball Federation president Babirye Sarah Kityo has been granted bail by Buganda Road Court on Wednesday evening.
Buganda Road Court granted Kityo and co-accused Zainab Namutebi bail and adjourned the case to June 6, 2023 for trial.
Kityo and a one businesswoman Namutebi are battling charges of obtaining money by false pretence.
The two purportedly committed the offences in May 2022.
A one Sarah Wamala claims she paid Kityo Shs8m to take her daughter to the United States of America.
At the same time, another accuser, Gloria Kikomeko Nantambi, alleges that she paid Shs8m to Kityo to take her to the United States of America.
In the bail hearing on Wednesday May 17, the state attorney had no objection to the application.
The magistrate deemed the sureties substantial and bonded them with Shs4m non-cash and Kityo and Zainab Shs1m cash.
Kityo was summoned by Uganda Police on Monday, April 15, to record statements in her defence for alleged obtaining of money by false pretence and was then expressly produced before the court and remanded to Luzira Prison.
