Official: Legend Peace Proscovia named She Cranes assistant coach for the UK Vitality Netball Nations Cup

The former She Cranes captain will deputize head coach Fred Mugerwa, who will lead a team of 12 ladies to the prestigious tournament, slated for January in England and Wales.

Ugandan netball great, Peace Proscovia has been made the Uganda Netball team assistant coach for the forthcoming UK Vitality Netball Nations Cup.

The former She Cranes captain will deputize head coach Fred Mugerwa, who will lead a team of 12 ladies to the prestigious tournament, slated for January in England and Wales.

Proscovia is a two-time African champion, who also captained Uganda to two separate Netball World Cup championships.

Across her professional career as a player, she has featured for Loughborough Lightning (England), Sunshine Coast Lightning in Austria and Surrey Storm in the United Kingdom.

Proscovia was ruled out of the 2023 Netball World Cup over "some issues that may not permit her to play."

After the disbanding of the Uganda Netball Federation last year, she was named part of the Normalisation Committee, which u overseeing netball activities in the country.

Meanwhile, at the Vitality Series, the She Cranes will face off with four of the world’s leading netball nations across the weekends of 20-21 and 27-28 January 2024 as part of an incredible showcase of international netball.

The first two days of the tournament will be played at the prestigious OVO Arena Wembley.

Matches will then move to the First Direct Arena, marking the first time that international netball has been held in Leeds.
