It is 50 days to the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa, and the She Cranes are yet to have a concrete preparation plan.

The She Cranes have had two training bases, and they are about to have a third in the space of four weeks, according to Brig Flavia Byekwaso, the acting president of the Uganda Netball Federation.

"We looked at many options out there, but all of them don't meet the standards we want," Byekwaso told journalists on Tuesday at the team's current training base in Lubowa.

The She Cranes are training and camping at the Africa Bible University in Lubowa after spending some time at the Kamwokya Sports Centre.

But the indoor facility in Lubowa comes with challenges beyond the team's control, forcing the change of plan.

"They have basketball hoops that are not adjustable, making it hard for the team because the netball court then comes short," Byekwaso.

"We looked at different options, including Nakilebe, but that is very far for the team, and the accommodation there was not close to what we were looking for."

"We have talked to the minister (PeterOgwang – State Minister for Sports), and he has promised to talk to NCS, and Lugogo (Indoor Stadium) should be availed to us," Byekwaso added.

The She Cranes are going for their fourth World Cup, their third straight showpiece and are in Group D alongside New Zealand, Singapore and Trinidad and Tobago.
