She Cranes coach Fred Mugerwa has finally released the 12 players and three reserves that will be going to the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa Cape Town.
Plascon Uganda has come to the team's aid with a Ugx 100m package aimed at helping them prepare better for the upcoming showpiece, according to Santosh Gumte, the General Manager of the leading paints manufacturers.
"We're here to try and support sports in Uganda, we recently unveiled a kit for our rugby side Mongers and today we're here to give the She Cranes a package to help prepare for the World Cup," Santosh noted.

She Cranes head coach Fred Mugerwa has revealed that he will only get excited for the Vitality Netball World Cup 2023 when he touches down in Cape Town.
"This year, we declare a package of Ugx 100m which we hope will bolster the team's preparations; we believe in sports and women empowerment hence the support to the team."
Gumde also appreciated the team's efforts that have seen them qualify for three straight World Cup editions, stressing they have to be supported in every way possible, especially through Plascon's Twaake campaign.

NETBALL 2023 Netball World Cup: Commonwealth Games made Mugerwa a better coach
She Cranes head coach, Fred Mugerwa, has revealed that the coaching at the 2022 Commonwealth Games made him a better coach heading into his first World Cup.
"Plascon has had a good association with the She Cranes from last year; it's not easy to qualify for three straight World Cups; they need all our support," he noted.
"That's why we're also launching our Twaake campaign aimed at boosting the team's support before and during the tournament; we request everyone to tag along."

NETBALL 2023 Netball World Cup: She Cranes continue to attract corporate partners
Not yet official, but Pulse Sports understands that national carrier Uganda Airlines will be unveiled as a sponsor for the national netball team, the She Cranes.
She Cranes head coach Fred Mugerwa was on hand to appreciate the timely sponsorship boost as he promised that the girls will do everything to perform well.
"A big thank you to Plascon for this timely support to the team; it will go a long way in ensuring our performance improves," Mugerwa noted.
"We had financial hiccups before residential training, but now we're ready; the team is well prepared, having played a few test matches, three against men's sides and two against schools.
"These will help add more physicality in the girls, so the morale is up there, and we're ready."
The She Cranes, who finished eighth and seventh, in 2015 and 2018, respectively, at their two World Cup appearances, are pooled in group D alongside Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore and New Zealand, with the tournament set to start on 28th July in Cape Town.
