The 2021 Safari Rally winner is contesting a part-time WRC campaign for the second year this year.
WRC leader Sébastien Ogier is among the names announced for the 2023 World Rally Championship Safari Rally Kenya.
The exciting seventh leg of the series, which will be held at the lakeside town of Naivasha on June 22-25, has attracted eight hybrid cars, with Toyota having entered for drivers.

Ogier, who is contesting a part-time WRC campaign for the second year in a row, will be making his fifth start of the year following historic victories in Rallye Monte-Carlo and Rally México that have made him the championship leader.
Last year’s winner Kalle Rovanpera has also been confirmed by the Toyota Gazoo team for the race alongside Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta.

His car reportedly went off the road and collided with a pole in a practice run ahead of next week’s Croatia rally.
Their return for Safari Rally was largely expected considering Ogier’s history with the event and Katsuta’s love that he won from fans in the previous two editions.
A press release from WRC Safari Rally also confirmed that Canadian drivers Jason Bailey and James Willets had entered the WRC Junior Championship, where they will battle with the Kenya junior team led by Anwar.
Czech Republic’s WRC2 driver Martin Prokop, navigated by compatriot Zdenek Jurka in a Ford Fiesta MK1 R2, will also participate in the event.

The event is scheduled for June 22 to 25 in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
The 40-year-old driver will return to Kenya after an impressive performance last season. He set second and third-fastest stage times twice and four times, respectively, before retiring from a stalled engine in a Ford Fiesta R2.
So far, Minesh Rathod, co-driven by Briton McTavish in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO10, is the first local driver to register for the event that will count for Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC).
