A 69-year-old Polish man has died a few days after being involved in a car crash with eight-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Ogier.
The crash occurred on June 25 near the village of Wlosty in northeastern Poland. Both Ogier and the Polish man were airlifted to a hospital, while Ogier's co-driver, Vincent Landais, and a 67-year-old passenger from the other car were taken by ambulance.
Despite all four individuals complaining of back pain, medical tests did not reveal any major injuries, and they were released from the hospital shortly thereafter.

Kalle Rovanpera unexpectedly joined Rally Poland leading Toyota to a dominant 1-2 finish after a last-minute team change.
The Polish man, whose name has not been disclosed, felt unwell at home on Sunday during hot weather.
His daughter called an ambulance, but he subsequently passed away. Police spokeswoman Marta Domanska mentioned that an autopsy would be performed to determine if his death was related to the crash. Authorities are still investigating the crash site, and no charges have been filed.
“Because there was extremely hot weather on Sunday and some days have passed since the crash, we don’t know if the two occurrences can be linked or not. An authopsy is expected to provide an answer,” Domanska said.

WRC secures bright future for Acropolis Rally Greece with new agreement
WRC promoter has extended the Acropolis Rally Greece securing its place in the WRC calendar with historic changes.
Following the accident, Ogier and Landais withdrew from the Rally Poland race. Their replacements, Kalle Rovanpera and Jonne Halttunen, went on to win the event.
Ogier, a prominent figure in rally driving, has won 60 rallies in his career, making him second all-time behind Sebastien Loeb's 80 wins.
Ogier has been competing part-time in the World Rally Championship this year, with recent victories in the Croatia Rally in April and the Portugal Rally in May.
