An Instagram model could be forced to pay darely for falsely accusing the Milan star of r*pe.
Luisa Kremleva, an Instagram model of dual Russian and Spanish nationality, is set to face a trial later this month for allegedly fabricating a rape accusation against AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez.
The case, which has garnered significant media attention, dates back to an incident outside the upscale Olivia Valere nightclub in Marbella, Spain.
Kremleva initially claimed that Hernandez sexually assaulted her in a Porsche Cayenne, resulting in knee injuries when he supposedly pushed her from the vehicle.
However, surveillance footage showed her falling and injuring herself alone, undermining her allegations.
Kremleva: Instagram model could face jail time and hefty fine for defamation in rape case
If convicted, Kremleva faces a two-year prison sentence and a hefty fine of ₦25 million (approximately £12,000) for defamation, as per Italian news outlet Sky TG24.
Despite the gravity of her claims, Hernandez was never arrested or charged in connection with the incident.
Kremleva’s mother has publicly asserted that her daughter is not under arrest and emphasized that “the truth will come out.”
Kremleva has maintained her innocence on social media via her Instagram page with over 37,400 followers, insisting she has not committed any crime and reiterating that she has not been arrested or convicted.
The trial is scheduled for October 28 at a court in Malaga.
However, there are still questions about Hernandez's potential involvement as it remains unclear whether he will attend in person or testify via video link.
