Senegal forward Sadio Mane and his 19-year-old wife Aisha Tamba have welcomed their first child, 14 months after their highly publicized wedding.
Senegal superstar Sadio Mane is a father.
Mane welcomed his first child with his teenage wife Aisha Tamba last Thursday and flew back to Senegal for the naming ceremony.
The couple, whose private wedding in January 2024 was highly publicized due to the age gap between them, Mane then 31 and Tamba 18 at the time, have kept their marriage private since then.
With Mane expressing a desire to have a big family in January this year, few know that there was a burn in the oven and on Thursday March 13, 2025, news broke that the couple had been blessed with a baby girl.

Mane then flew to Dakar for the baby’s naming ceremony conducted by his family and that of his 19-year-old wife after which the newborn was given the name Animata.
As per The Dailymail, the traditional baptism, locally known as bapteme, took place at Mane’s uncle’s house and was attended by Tamba’s parents, her mother arriving dressed in a yellow dress, while her father wore all-white.
From a clip posted online, family members can be seen dancing and clapping as they celebrated the bundle of joy with the footballer’s uncle Ibrahima Toure leading the ceremony.

Mane completed the ceremony just in time to be back in Saudi Arabia for his club duties with Al-Nassr, featuring in their 3-1 victory over Al-Kholood in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.
