Cristiano Ronaldo will not get to enjoy a familiar face at Al-Nassr anytime soon as former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to join him in Saudi Arabia

Zidane and Ronaldo conquered Europe during their time at Real Madrid, winning the UEFA Champions League three times in a row in an unprecedented run.

The French manager and Ronaldo both left Real Madrid after their third UCL title together and while the manager returned to Los Blancos, the Portuguese superstar found solace elsewhere.

After leaving Real Madrid for a second time as manager, Zidane has been picky with new jobs, rejecting most new offers while waiting for the perfect opportunity.

The former Real Madrid manager had been holding out for the France national team job, but he was passed over for incumbent manager Didier Deschamps, sparking a row that led to the resignation of the president of France’s Football Federation.

Zidane still waiting for perfect job

Zidane has decided to keep waiting for a club that suits him and after reportedly turning down offers from London clubs Chelsea and Tottenham, he is now reported to have turned down a move from the gulf as well.

Al-Nassr’s offer is believed to be worth €150 million over two seasons, but the money and the prospect of re-uniting with Ronaldo are apparently not strong enough motivators for Zidane to come out of his hiatus.

Zidane is believed to be the preferred choice to take over from current Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier, and the prospect of taking over the most prosperous team in his native France might be the key factor that convinces him to finally end his sabbatical.
