Super Eagles full-back Zaidu Sanusi is close to returning from injury.
Porto and Super Eagles full-back Zaidu Sanusi is closer to a return to action as he continues training under supervision.
Zaidu Sanusi back in training
Sanusi is back and is even doing conditioning training according to manager Sergio Conceicao during a morning training session at Olival.
Conceicao is still without Pepe, Evanilson, and Stephen Eustaquio due to injury.
Zaidu Sanusi's injury
Sanusi injured his left abductor on November 1, 2022, in a Champions League game against Atletico Madrid, where Porto won 2-1.
He went off injured in the 53rd minute of the game and was replaced by Brazilian defender Wendell.
Sanusi has since been out of action, missing seven games for Porto so far, two of which were league games, and five, cup games.
The 25-year-old Nigerian is the starting left-back for Porto, and since his injury, Conceicao has had to rely on Wendell who joined the club in the summer of 2021.
Porto's next game is a league game against Arouca on Wednesday, December 28.
It remains to be seen if Zaidu Sanusi would be fit enough to feature in that game, but the next one is in the new year, January 7th precisely. It is a game against Casa Pia, and we might see him then.
Porto are currently second in the league and would like that have Zaidu Sanusi back as soon as possible in their bid to close the gap between them and current league leaders Benfica.
